Prior to going to school full-time she served in the U.S. Air Force. This is where her passion for medicine and healthcare developed as she volunteered in the Pharmacy, CASF, and Med-Evacuation pad during her tours overseas.
Growing up in Northern California, Dr. Avery was raised with alternative medicine. After an ATV accident as a child, Acupuncture is what allowed her to recover completely from this accident. Through her personal experience of integrating supplements, herbs, and Acupuncture she has overcome a chronic illness that several say is irreversible and the standard Western treatment is medication for life. Dr. Avery has always used complementary medicine, benefited from it, and believes in it. Dr. Avery is passionate about providing her patients with individualized healthcare based on their current state of being and is committed to helping them achieve their optimal state of health. Dr. Avery works with Primary Care Providers to help advocate for what her patients need and want in order to get well-rounded healthcare.
Dr. Avery enjoys doing research in plant based medicine and formulating herbal decoctions. In her free time she enjoys snowboarding, riding dirt bikes, hiking, bow-hunting, the lake, and gardening. Most of all she loves her little family!
